Those of you who are ending your junior year of high school have no doubt seen all the “Congratulations, Graduates!” signs that sprout up on lawns at this time of year.  And it has probably struck you that a year from now your name will be on one of them.

Knowing that the first semester of senior year will be incredibly busy between schoolwork and college applications, more and more students in recent years have smartly used the summer months to get a head start.  And here’s where we can help you!

If you’re a high school junior and haven’t actively started your college search by now, your time has come!

Some of you juniors probably thought you didn’t have to begin thinking about college until next fall when you need to start submitting applications.  But if you wait, you’re not doing yourself any favors, and you’ll also be missing out on one of the most fun parts of the whole process.

Every year at this time, as college financial aid awards roll in for the high school seniors I’m working with, I realize anew how the federal calculations for financial “need” are totally unrealistic for the middle class.
